Instead of returning to the take-off position and landing the drone, some pilots prefer to save time and batteries by launching missions in mid air immediately after completing mission planning.
While, in principle, missions may be launched in mid air, it is important to consider that doing so can lead to increased inaccuracies of your drone’s GPS system and altimeter, because the errors of both systems are cumulative. For this reason, we recommend you do not launch missions mid air in the following situations:
- Windy weather
- Difficult to avoid obstacles such as trees
- When you experience significant GPS or altimeter errors even without mid air launches
